Method


  • 1Combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Gradually add warm water and olive oil to form a soft dough. Knead for 10 minutes.


  • 2Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.


  • 3Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F). Divide the dough into 6 portions and roll each into a thin circle.


  • 4Mix za’atar with olive oil to form a spreadable paste. Spread the mixture over each dough circle.


  • 5Bake on a preheated tray or pizza stone for 7-10 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve warm.

Notes


  • Serve with labneh or feta cheese for a complete meal.

  • For extra crunch, add sesame seeds to the za’atar mixture.
