recipes, recipe, how to instructions, Mexican Churros

Crispy fried dough coated in cinnamon sugar, served with a rich chocolate dipping sauce. Use any sauce of your liking of course. But it goes well with sweet sauces.

Ingredients

Method

  • 1In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, salt, and butter to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms.

  • 2Let the dough cool slightly, then mix in the egg until smooth.

  • 3Heat oil in a deep pan. Pipe the dough into hot oil using a star-tipped piping bag, cutting into desired lengths.

  • 4Fry until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  • 5Mix sugar and cinnamon, then coat the churros while still warm. Serve with chocolate sauce.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg to the coating for extra flavor.

  • For a lighter texture, use a star nozzle for piping.
